Xuan Zang (c 602 -. 664), was a monk, scholar, traveler and translator China that describes the interaction between China and India in the early Tang dynasty. From childhood, he took to read religious books, including the classic Chinese and writings of the ancient sages. He then traveled around China in search of the sacred books of Buddhism. Subsequently, he developed a desire to visit India. This is when he became famous for his journey of seventeen overland to India, which recorded in detail in the text of classical Chinese Great Tang Records on the Western Regions.
